Harry Potter

For my birthday I saw the seventh Harry Potter film: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. While watching the movie I thought that they changed it from the book so much because I didn't remember anything that I read being in the movie. But I had heard how accurate it was to the book so I decided to read through it again. Turns out, I just didn't remember what I had read because the movie really does give an accurate plot portrayal. Definitely worth seeing (and thankfully it also did not buy into the 3D fad that seems to be creeping up in every movie).

The Heart of Racial Justice

This is the new book that I am reading lately. I first began it several years ago, after the first time I went to FUI. But then I decided to re-read it (or read it all the way through). It is very intriguing.

(Side note - did not actually finish this book until fall of 2012. Oops.)

Setting Goals

Today's project: 3A classroom.
Specifically the organizing the books.
Goal: work hard enough to earn $50.
Task: completed.
Tomorrow - world peace.

Dorothy Parker

My Great Aunt Sherri gives the best presents - she is one of the few people who puts a lot of time and effort into every present she gives. For graduation she gave me this book - The Portable Dorothy Parker because it that was one of the author's her favorite English teacher introduced her to and since Sherri heard I wanted to be a teacher she wanted to pass this along.

For an Aunt I never see, this is a pretty amazing present.

Cliffnotes

Guess what I did today? Yes I studied for the CSET exam - all four English subtests. I know I'm crazy - and I get to spend five hours out of my Saturday taking this test. Oh the joy. This book has now replaced Virginia Woolf as my best friend. Don't worry V.W. - it's only temporary.

What Consumes My Time

What will I do with a BA in English? Who cares, I'll have a bigger and better library than you.
