Logan Love

I had a lunch date with the cutest boy ever. He is adorable and really knows how to woo all the ladies.

How can you not fall in love with that face?

Krystal Park Band

So I recently discovered that my friend Krystal Park puts amazing music on her Facebook music page. I took her cover photos - so she can look good when she's famous. You should listen to her.

Orange Circle

Melody had a long over due adventure. I drove down to her home town and ate a late breakfast at her favorite place and explored the orange circle. Little did I know that I had actually been here before - two years ago for an InterVarsity leadership retreat.

This sign is from the street of thrift stores. They were everywhere. This is not from one of the thrift stores but from one that made a lot of signs about Jesus.

Wall Art

Even though I'm moving out of my dad's house shortly - I could not help myself from entering project mode.

This time: decorate the walls. I say it is one of my better creations - if only I didn't have to take it down in about a week and a half.

Silly Scents

I recently discovered my love for markers. All summer long I was using markers to journal, to draw, to color, to enjoy all my new found artistic passions. So when it came time to finally stop borrowing other people's markers and buy my own - there was only one real choice: Silly Scents.

You see, several years ago, during a manuscript study, my friends and I realized that our markers could smell. However, we did not know which ones they were - so we proceeded to smell EVERY marker. We looked crazy - but finally realized those with the black casing were the silly scents and those with the white casing were not.

My favorite: dark red - it's raspberry.

Starbucks

"The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat, etc. So people who don't know what the hell they're doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall. Decaf. Cappuccino."

Boba

There is a new pho place in Glendale. I am anxious to actually try their phở but Sarah and I just went in from Thai Tea and boba. It was a little dark though and the tables were cold feeling. But if the phở is good, what does it matter.

Through the Eyes of a Lens

I see the world through pictures. I have seen the world through they eye of a lens since high school when I joined the yearbook staff. I recently was told by a friend who I hadn't seen in several years that he was excited to see my photography stick. He thought it would just be a phase. Clearly its not just a phase and moving from a hobby.
But I write too. Little recently but I do. Now if I could be inspired enough to combine the two in this blog, I might have more than just three readers.

Balloon Flowers

At the Macaroni Grill there was a man making balloon creations. We were there to celebrate my cousin Jessica heading off to college. He made everything from monkeys to aliens. And Jessica got me, my mom, and my sister balloon flowers. They were amazing and glowed in the dark.

True Love...

"Love is never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always 'me first,'
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sin of others,
Doesn't reveal when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything
Trust God always,
Always look for the best,
Never looks black
But keeps going to the end."

Bathroom Primping

I arrive to the church to take photos for Kristin and Eric's rehearsal and Robyn (the wedding cordinator) rushes me into the bathroom and says: "This is a cute moment! Capture it!" So now I have bathroom primping pictures.

Continuing the Photo Edits

With extra time on my hands I've been playing with photoshop and picassa to edit the wedding photos I've been taking. I'm not exceptionally talented with either of these programs. I basically adjusted the lighting, blurred the background, and made it a focal black and white... but what makes this photo amazing is not my photographic ability or computer ability but how happy Robyn is.
That is the pure joy of taking wedding photos.

Momentous Occasion for Hercules

My car, Hercules, had a momentous occasion today. He finally reached 100,000 miles. He's been a good car, has been with me through a lot of times. And I hope to make it through 100,000 more miles with him.

Diddy Riese

I have heard of this place through my best friend Christina. She has told me of all the crazy adventures she has had this place (some good, some bad) but always made better by ice cream and cookies (and most often after midnight). On our adventure day down to Santa Monica, we were trying to figure out where to eat and decided that I needed to finally go to Diddy Riese. You can pick any two cookies, an scoop of ice cream for only $1.50. It's amazing... now if we can get one in SLO...

Wedding Edits

Since I finally am having time to sit down and edit the wedding photos I've taken, I'm enjoying the opportunity to play around with photoshop a bit more. It's nice to get these done since Jamey's wedding was in April.

Shirts and Sunglasses

Dylan and I wore the same shirt for the same event, just different years. His was for the Anthem 2009 and mine was for the anthem 2010. This picture would have been better if I had green sunglasses.

Going to the Chapel...

I'm running out of creative titles for posts about weddings. This is number four since April. I love my friends, I love that they are starting this new phase in their life, but must they all begin it within a three month period?

This wedding allowed me to travel to Saratoga, near San Jose to a camp area where Teresa and Andrew married each other. It was beautiful but a little cold, being outside and up north. But the most fun was camping at the cam site right after the wedding.

Paper Airplanes

Teresa and Andrew's wedding was at a camp in Saratoga. They were having a kids camp the same week and I think they were there right before the wedding because Sarah and I found two paper airplanes stuck in rock. They stayed there throughout the evening and I wonder if anyone noticed them?

Sunroom

This week, I Have been walking around SLO a lot more. Other than the obvious advantages of not paying for parking, getting more exercises, and using less gas, I get to see more of SLO than I did while driving. I spent a lot of this week on a different side of town, near the train station and the houses there are much different than my neighborhood. I saw this cute one on a walk and loved it. It seemed really small at first but it is just a sunroom to a larger house behind it.

The Prolonged Adventure

After months of waiting, postponing, and rescheduling, Bekah and I finally had our adventure. It wasn't quite to the epic-ness of almost getting eaten by giant seals but you can't almost die every day. All we did was walk around SLO, ate sandwiches from Gus's and lay in a park for a while.

The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread...

Ok maybe it's not the best thing since sliced bread (which is pretty amazing by the way) but pretzel m&m's are AWESOME! Serious it combines two of my favorite snacks - pretzels and m&m's and puts them into one single package of greatness. You have no idea how much I love these things. You should try them - close your computer right now, get in your car or on your bike or just walk to the nearest store and by them. You will not regret it.

Bathroom Sign

I went on a small adventure with Shannon around SLO. After walking around downtown, exploring candy shops, and eating various gummy things, we needed to use the facilities. And this was the most amazing sign on the bathroom door at Starbucks. The men's restroom was out of order, so one of the workers put this on to show that it was now everyone's bathroom. I was very amused for several minutes.

Sweet Ride

This was my ride to lunch today, fortunately for me, it was in the front seat not the back.

Officially...

It's official!! I have graduated from Cal Poly. And this flimsy piece of paper is all I have to show for four years of hard work and money invested into that school.

But it still looks pretty cool.

Landscaping

My dad finally finished the landscaping for his house. This was a year long project (maybe even more). He has roses along the side of the house, lights along the pathway, and yard finally full of grass (rather than dirt). It actually looks like someone lives here...

Rose Garden

"He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me besides quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name sake..."

We had church today in the rose garden. It was Christina's brilliant idea to have not only a picnic but also to have church outside. It is one of the most people spots at our church.

Star Wars Painting

When I was like eleven or twelve my dad had this friend who was a painter. They offered my dad a painting for my sister and I, from any picture we could choose. My sister, being a year younger found a picture of a cute puppy. And I, well as you can see, chose this Star Wars image. Some day this will be make my husband happy - hopefully he likes Star Wars as much as I do.

Corn!

Need I really say more - that thing that looks like a giant bush is really huge corn stalks.

Hilmar Cheese Factory

Yes we ate lunch at the cheese factory. The best thing about eating lunch at the cheese factory is not only their amazing sandwiches - but the free cheese samples. Yes I did say free cheese samples. How much do I love Hilmar? So very much.

Stolen Sombrero

I "borrowed" Julie's sombrero for a little while. I was hoping she wouldn't notice that I had it on, or think that she already packed it. I really liked it and it fit my head really well. But she did notice that I had it on (I thought I was being discreet) and she did take it back to Baskerfield with me. I will miss that hat... and I'll miss the whole FUI team too.
